Music WithMe for Android wirelessly syncs music from iTunes to Android and back! Sharing and discovering new music has never been easier. Share your music with friends on Twitter, Facebook, Email or SMS. Discover music being shared on Twitter by your friends, or everyone.
If your friend uses an iPhone and shares music through another music service like Pandora, Soundtracking or Last.FM, no problem. Those shares will all appear in your “Friend” stream.
Find someone sharing music you like, but don’t want to follow them on Twitter? You can “Tune In” to their shares too.
After you have discovered a new great song, you can buy it on your phone or tablet through AmazonMP3. The song will automatically be sync’d back to iTunes for you.
Once you’ve installed Music WithMe on your phone you can quickly and easily share music with your Facebook friends and Twitter followers.
Choose “Share” from the Music WithMe dashboard to share music that you’ve recently played. Or choose “Tap to share” from the Music WithMe notification in your phone’s status bar to share in real-time.
Yes! Music WithMe’s universal search function allows you to find and share songs in iTunes and the Amazon MP3 store. So you can share music from your own collection or you can share any song available in either iTunes or Amazon MP3.
Music WithMe wirelessly syncs your iTunes library to your phone via wifi or cellular connection. To wirelessly get your music install Music WithMe on your Android phone and install the helper app on your computer. Login to both with your Facebook account. On the Music WithMe for Android homescreen choose “Sync” to begin selecting the artists, albums and playlists you want Music WithMe to download to your phone.
Music WithMe wirelessly syncs your new AmazonMP3 music purchases to your iTunes via wifi or cellular connection. To wirelessly get your music install Music WithMe on your Android phone and install the helper app on your computer. On the Android, tap “Sync” from the main screen, then connect to our system using Facebook Connect. Once you have also connected your helper, any new purchases you make from AmazonMP3 will be automatically transferred back to iTunes. Transfers are logged on the Activity tab of the “Sync” page. Your music is first sent to our servers, and then on to the helper application, so your helper application does not need to be connected for your phone to start transferring music.
No. Music WithMe uses Facebook connect for signing in to Music WithMe for Android and the helper app. That means if you already have a Facebook account you’re ready to sign in to Music WithMe.
Yes. Instead of having to remember login credentials for another account or enter in a random code, with Music WithMe you simply sign in with your Facebook account credentials.
Access my basic information
By default, the user is asked to authorize the app to access basic information that is available publicly or by default on Facebook. This means you’re giving permission to see info that you have made publicly viewable by “Everyone.” This is a pretty standard requirement for any application that accesses Facebook or uses Facebook for authentication.
Send me email
This means you’re giving us permission to email you directly at the email address associated with your Facebook account. When you login for the first time we’ll automatically send you an email with instructions and links for downloading the Music WithMe helper app.
Post to my Wall
This means that when you choose to share a song to Facebook we have permission to post that song to your Wall. Music WithMe will never post to your wall unless you have explicitly chosen to share a song.
Access My Data Anytime
This sounds a little scary but it just means that you don’t have to be logged into Facebook in a browser to be able to use Music WithMe. Basically it means that if you aren’t currently logged into Facebook itself we don’t have to ask you for permission each and every time you want to sync your music or share a song.
Access News Feed
This allows us to look for songs your Facebook friends have shared using Music WithMe so we can show you what your friends are sharing in one place on your Android phone.

Music WithMe for Android is available for phones running Android 2.1 (Eclair) or greater.

Music WithMe cannot sync songs that contain DRM copy protection.
Music WithMe cannot sync music from iTunes libraries that are stored on networked drives.
After your music has been delivered to your device you can listen to it using the default music player on your device or any third party media player you may have on your phone.
Music WithMe relies on a number of network services including: Amazon Web Services, AmazonMP3.com, Facebook and iTunes. From time to time, these services suffer outages and it affects our service. Whenever we’re aware of an issue we post service issues to @withmestatus. You can also check out the state of other services here:
- Amazon Web Services
- AmazonMP3.com does not share its status their services.
- iTunes: Apple does not share the status of iTunes.
If you get the “white screen of Success” please quit Music WithMe then launch Safari. Choose “Reset Safari” from the Safari menu and then relaunch Music WithMe. You’ll be prompted to login again and you’ll receive confirmation that you have logged in and Music WithMe is connected.
Music WithMe populates the lists of albums, artists and playlists as it gets the information. So it’s possible that while your library information is initially being processed you’ll only see partial lists. The larger your library is the longer this initial setup takes. If you have a larger than average library (more than 5,000 songs) please be patient while your library information is processed.
The helper app has to first upload the music you’ve selected before it can be downloaded to your phone. So there will be a delay while the music you’ve requested is uploaded from your computer.
Transfer of your AmazonMP3 music purchases requires that you have logged in at least once with one of the helper applications. If you have not yet connected a helper application AmazonMP3 purchases will be left on your phone. After your initial connection with the helper application, future AmazonMP3 purchases will be transferred whether your helper is connected or not. Music purchased from AmazonMP3 prior to your first login with the helper application is not transferred by Music WithMe.
Note that it may take up to twenty minutes for our system to determine that you have a new AmazonMP3 file ready for transfer.
If you’ve waited twenty minutes and nothing is happening, or you are just feeling antsy, here are some things to try:
- The transfer can only work if you have good network connectivity and you are connected to our system. To reestablish connectivity with our system go to the settings page and uncheck “Enable Music Sync”, hit your BACK button, count to five, then go back into settings page and turn on the checkbox for “Enable Music Sync”. Now wait one to five minutes to see if the transfer starts.
- If you know you are connected properly (because downloads are working, for example) you can force a scan of your AmazonMP3 purchases by going to the Settings screen and tapping on “Scan now for new Amazon MP3s”. Wait one to five minutes and see if the transfer starts.
Access the helper app’s menu (either from your Mac menu bar or your Windows taskbar) to see if there is a time listed for “Library Updated.” If there isn’t please submit a help ticket and provide your computer’s operating system, the location of your iTunes library and a description of the problem.
Example: Mac OS X, Username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml, I’ve installed Music WithMe and the helper app but my none of my playlists are showing up on my Thunderbolt.
We are working to improve the way Music WithMe handles exceptionally large libraries. In the meantime we must caution users who have an iTunes library xml file of 50 MB or greater that they will experience less than optimal performance when using Music WithMe.
There is a known issue with the latest Gingerbread release (2.3.3) that is causing out of memory errors. This issue seems to most frequently impact users on Nexus One and Nexus S devices. This is not a Music WithMe specific issue, Android users report this behavior with many stock and 3rd party applications.
Your computer is missing the required .NET Framework. You can install the latest version from Microsoft by going to http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=17851 Once you install the framework you should be up and running.
